There's that moment when a painting starts to breath--the elements begin to speak to each other in a way that is both calming and exhilarating. As an artist, I’m always looking for that moment. I know then that the piece will bring life to its future home.
This is especially exciting when a space I’m painting for really speaks to me. Over the next few weeks, I will be sharing my new series of abstract paintings: Inspired Spaces. For this series, I chose nine spaces that I love. Each room inspired an individual abstract painting.
These paintings are available for sale on my website. If you like one that has already sold and would like me to paint a similar painting for you, or if you would like me to paint something for a room in your own home, just let me know! See all the details on ordering a commissioned piece here. Styling, photography, and design courtesy of Maggie Sutton.
Inspired Space #1 is this lush kitchen by Justina Blakeney at the Jungalow. ❤️❤️❤️ I'm a big fan of using lots of different shades of the same color together.
The first painting in my Inspired Spaces series is called Still. (Like getting lost in the deep green of an enchanted forest.)
And I know you want to know about that stunning credenza. This vintage piece was redesigned by my new friend Martha Leone who graciously invited me into her studio to photograph this series with her beautifully designed furniture. It was a perfect day with stylist Maggie Sutton snapping away with her camera and the three of us madly moving props around. There is nothing I love more than a collaboration with generous and creative women. Martha sells her lovely pieces on her website and she does custom work!
