Should I Post While on Percocet?

It's obviously a rhetorical question since I'm doing it anyway. Now I will whine--another no-no while blogging. I've pinched a nerve in my back and have to keep still. Keeping still is not my strong suit.

So now I'm blogging from my phone because I can't sit up. Luckily Dave and Lily are taking great care of me and bringing me hot chocolate and ice cream and my hot rice pack whenever I demand it. I haven't changed a single diaper or washed a single dish all day. Maybe sitting still isn't so bad after all.

I was really cruising too on my Etsy shop. I've made the most beautiful prints of my watercolors. I couldn't be any happier with them. I've also got some fat-eighth stacks and covered buttons and hand dyed felt and all sorts of goodies almost ready to post. AND my strike offs came yesterday. I'm so excited to work on all these fun projects. I guess in a few days I can get back to it.

Also, I haven't forgotten about the dress drawing. I'll announce the winner on Monday, after I figure out how you get your free dress.

Chop Chop

She's been begging to cut her hair short for months.  Last night on a whim--That's how I operate--we went for it.  She chose the hairstyle.  I think it really suits her.  In fact, when we arrived at the mall, she was wearing miss-matched, striped, knee-high socks with shorts.  I was thinking "What is going on with that outfit?"  But after she got her hair cut, the crazy knee-high socks look made sense. I'm glad she's confident enough to have a funky hairstyle.  And she is loving it!

A Dash of Color

I just got the most beautiful package from my mom.  The light is going so I'll have to take some more pictures on another day, but this turned out.  Isn't this the best idea for storing buttons.  I could have shelves and shelves covered in salt shakers filled with buttons.  

Journaling

I scanned a few pages of my mom's journal to make some postcards.  Her journals are truly amazing. She incorporates painting, drawing, collage, found objects, etc.   She uses vintage books to journal in and just paints right over the pages.  Cool eh?

Keepin' Busy

I'm trying to keep the kids busy this afternoon.  We finished the Narnia movies.  So fun.  Lily made cookies with the boys.  I just printed this Easter matching game from mozzieswayoflife.blogspot.com. Isn't that cute?  She also has blank eggs for the kids to color in.  Luke has decorated them with superhero symbols.  

Sunny Days

We have had the craziest weather here.  It was so hot this week that I gave in and brought out the summer clothes.  It took a few days of over-dressing the boys first. Grant got fed up with his thermal shirt.  Next he got fed up with clothes altogether.  I could eat him in those overalls.  

I've been feverishly working on setting up an Etsy shop for the summer.  I've got a fancy new printer and have been making art prints.  I am thrilled with how they are turning out.  I've tested countless different papers and have found one I really love.  I'm also putting together some sewing patterns with kits and other little sewing goodies.  I'm hoping to get it up in a few weeks.

I did manage to bring my work outside a bit this week.  We have the most beautiful magnolia tree in our neighborhood.  I let the boys run around and worked on this watercolor.  I'll have to post a picture of the finished piece.

Well, Lily is waiting for me to watch Narnia with her.  I'm loving our local library.  They had all three movies.  Lily hasn't seen them and I missed one.  We are in our jammies and ready to veg. 

 

Your Lookin' Good!

I think he likes what he sees.  My favorite part is the pop gun tucked in the back of his cape.  I wonder what mischief that Superman, Power Ranger, Robin, Masked avenger has in mind.

Poppy Nursery

Looks like someone is expecting a baby...

Or two! How sweet is this room?!  The bedding was made by Jayna at Rocky Top Design.  

The whole concept of twins boggles my mind.  I feel like I barely survived one infant at a time.  I have a friend who says when she left the hospital after delivering her twins she felt sorry for all the people leaving with just one baby.  She has really loved the twin experience.  But I just cannot imagine twice the feedings, daipers, burping, crying AND half the sleep.  Kudos to you moms out there who have done it!

Ooooh Ollie!!

OK.  I MUST make these for my boys.  Could little Ollie be any cuter?  Ollie's mom is my dear friend Shannon, owner of Fabric Nosherie in St Louis.  I just want to squeeze him.  I think she is selling bow tie kits at her shop, or maybe teaching a class.  Chime in Shannon, if your out there and leave us the real information.
