Happy Fifth of July. I hope your day was as good as ours. We spent the fourth with my sister's family and my mom and aunt in Portland. Although it was the coldest fourth of July I've experienced, it was one of the funnest. An amazing variety of fireworks are legal in the Northwest (and some maybe shouldn't be). So we parked our lawn chairs in my sister's cul-de-sac and watched all sorts of happy (thankfully) explosions.
Portland is one of my favorite cities to visit. Every storefront and restaurant is so unique and artsy and my sister is an expert at finding the most interesting areas. One of my favorite fabric stores is here--Bolt. They have partnered with another venue--Modern Domestic--where they offer classes and workshops. I'm actually heading down there on Thursday night for a little "meet the artist" event. I'll talk a bit about my process for designing fabric. I also have a little demo planned and Bolt will be giving away some goodies and refreshments! So if you live nearby you should head over there on Thursday, July 8th, at 7pm.
