Grandma came to town!! This meant full days in our P.J.'s and lots and lots of crafting.
Ever since we made a banner at Friday Group for Shannon's sister I'd been dreaming of this fall banner and my mom made it happen. She did 2 layers of felt for the letters and hand stitched a running stitch in red, which really made them pop. My friends have been passing around her template and there has been a fall banner making frenzy around here.My take on Fall colors--add some aqua and even a little pink and it's not so heavy.
One of my favorite expressions to hear is "Thank you, Momma." Or better yet--"Gangkoo, Momma." Luke is a prolific thanker. He says "Gangkoo" about a hundred times a day. He is the first one to say it when dinner is served or when Lily brings water to the table (we are all learning from him). But he also says "gangkoo" for things most of us wouldn't think to, like when I hand him a wet diaper to put in the trash, or when I get him out of time-out. Man, I hope he never changes.
My family has really enjoyed the focus on gratitude this month. Lily planned an activity for family night where each of us drew a picture of something we are grateful for and then showed it off. The pictures ranged from dark chocolate to toilets. Grandma blew us away with her sketches of each of the kids. We like showing off around here.
