This is so weird...
I woke up the other morning at about 5:30 am--after a dream. It was super vivid. I saw a painting AND I saw exactly how to paint it--what colors to layer in order to get the effect. So I crawled out of bed and started painting. I painted most of the day (sorry kids) and ended up with something I really love. So, introducing my clouds (as seen in strange dream).
I told this story to my friend and she told me she had the same kind of thing happen with a book idea. She is now 200 pages into it. Weird! The mind is such a mystery.
P.S. I did make pickles--or rather my Friday girls did (insert evil laugh here). Almost perfect. I'm not crazy about the pickling spice I used. I'd like to try again, but it's probably too late in the season now.
P.P.S. On Friday St Louis At Home magazine is coming over to write about my Friday Group. How funny is that.

That's way cool ... the picture and the dream. I always think it's interesting to see what our brains work out in the night. I always dream about a house that we're going to buy ... haven't found it in real life, but I know it must be out there somewhere!

Beautiful!!!
I wish my dreams were so inspirational... according to my husband I was talking about doing paperwork last night. July's paperwork. I don't even ever do paperwork so it is probably good I don't remember it :)

Laura,
I stumbled across your fabric on Etsy and fell in love with it last weekend! Then I was looking at your blog and saw you filmed QA TV this year. Which makes me really upset because I filmed on Thursday and missed meeting you by 2 days! (I'm very upset about this)
I just thought I would tell you that I think your fabric is wonderful and it really fills a hole in the market, something that I have been looking for!

Hey cutie, speaking of pickles, I have been eating reuben sandwiches ever since we had dinner together at the QA TV shoot (none as good as that one!) Reminds me of our fun time together! Miss ya.

What a beautiful painting. You definitely have a gift, especially if you are receiving your inspiration in dreams. Beautiful work.

Been reading for awhile and love your paintings. I wanted to know what paint you use to make such large, bold canvases?

I use different brands of acrylics (Van Gogh, Dick Blick, etc.) and even some craft paints. The Delta craft paints are pretty good.

Hi Laura, LOONg time fan and first (?) time
commenter. LOVE the cloud thing. I always have interesting (ahem) dream after taking Nyquil (like your being chased, only in slow motion..hmmmm) Anyway, do you ever do any shows in the STL area? I am in Ballwin and would love to your work locally. I also have a friend who has a gallery, if you are interested I could introduce you.

Love those clouds! And thought I'd add that I've had really vivid dreams like that too, about sewing or painting and sketching. It's pretty crazy but fun when it works out so beautifully as yours has :)

I love this painting!!! I have thought about it several times since the first time I saw it. It makes me feel at once elevated and filled with longing.
Thanks for sharing
