Paint in My Hair

While Isaac was here we did a photo shoot at Trenna Lange's beautiful house.  Trenna is a big believer in using white to show off your sparkley, colorful stuff.  She has white furniture, walls, even some floors (that's with a dog, cat, and 2 kids!!!)  Do to my overactive color addiction (not to mention my underactive housekeeping addiction) I resist her theory, BUT...it's my favorite place to photograph my paintings.  Colors really do pop on her neutral backdrop.  Another great thing about using Trenna's home is that she is fearless about putting nails in her walls.  I guess that comes from having her own shop and doing design work for Home Companion Magazine.  Anyways, she promises have her gorgeous website up by the Spring (I've seen previews.)  And you will all be like ooh la la. 

I've been busy this week finishing up my 2009 calendar.  It's in the printers hands and should be finished up soon.  I'm soooooooooooooo  ridiculously giddy about it.  The photos of my paintings printed so beautifully and I can't wait to send them out as Christmas presents.  I'll be selling some on Etsy when I get my hands on them.  I'll keep ya posted.

Just Like Riding a Bike

So......the truth is I haven't owned my own bike since the one I got for Christmas when I was nine.  But Dave came through with my first non-banana-seat-bike.  And although those old school Huffies look pretty sweet, some serious improvements have been made in the last 25 years.  So this is what my new ride looks like (except mine is lavender).  Thanks, Dave!

I was actually a bit nervous about riding, but I discovered that there is a reason for the expression, "just like riding a bike." I mean it was just like riding a bike!

Dave and I got a sitter and rode almost ten miles together today. It was a fantastic date.

Been Monkeyin' Around

We managed to drag ourselves out the door and get to the zoo bright and early.  That's the best because the animals are so active.  This 4-year-old orangutan was rolling down the hill and taunting the girls with her stunts. 

It's a crime for cousins to live so far apart.  We had daily giggles over the things Charlotte would say.  I love that age. 

On a different note:

Check this out from Joy's Hope.  Hubba hubba.  I seriously need some of that zebra print.  (Not to mention a day at that lake).   I love how she mixed the prints.

Absolutely!  And go Janis, go.  Sewing is such an important skill to share.

Also, the best price I found on crates was at Target, but the size is a bit different so you'd have to figure out the measurements.
