I had such a great week last week. My friend Dana King, a local interior designer invited me to help with the coolest project. A local organization called Haven of Grace was preparing a new apartment complex for struggling single moms. The moms can stay for a year and receive support and job training. Haven of Grace invited Dana and fellow designer, Gina Adolphson, to decorate one of the apartments. They asked me to paint a few murals. Here are two of them. I didn't get a good picture of the third mural, but it may pop up in the next issue of St Louis' At Home Magazine. Icing on the cake.
And then for sprinkles on the icing, my mom was here for a quick visit and was able to come and see my murals and keep Luke busy while I wrapped them up. She also whipped up the coolest Oilily-esc monkey doll. He's shown here with his monkey-fairy-girlfriend and with Lily's very own Liliana doll (designed by Lily and grandma.) Crazy Grandma, as she is affectionately called, just finished the pattern for Liliana. I don't see it on her website yet, but I think it will be soon.
The adventures continue through this week, including a package coming from Japan, and a pow-wow with some very talented friends regarding a very cool idea (I'll share more with you soon).
