More Decorating with Laura ___n
Here are some more pics from Mel's house. The little dresser still needs pulls and a glaze. I left Melanie with all sorts of projects. In fact, she probably needs to fly me back out to help finish. I did the paintings below to complement her vase. She says they look like a mountain scape and sunset. I think that would be a pretty apocalyptic sunset. But maybe Mel needs a reminder of things to come to keep her in line. Ha ha ha.
A few random things:
Annie, from Simple Arts interviewed me and my mom at the Bernina reunion in Chicago. Her website temporarily crashed when she posted our interview (hmmm... coincidence?) It's back and running. Just scroll down until you see my mom's hot pink hair. Annie was so fun to hang out with. She looks about 35, but claims to be a bit older than that. (I'm not buyin' it)
My friend Dana, of Dana's Design Studio, mentioned me in her blog. But every time she entered my last name Blogger would remove the Gun from Gunn. Weird, eh. Anyone know what that's about?
Well I'm off for some Spring cleaning. I mean windows open, music blasting Spring cleaning. The sun has returned to St Louis!!

I like the apocalyptic sunset/sunrise. And it doesn't make me feel angry, restless or fearful as most apocalyptic portrayals often do. It actually calms, like another day is dawning and there is hope on the horizon. Or, finally the day of trial is coming to a close and I can rest. Either way, you do apocalyptic well.
How fun to be able to go to shows with your Mom and Heather. Good times.

Thanks Kim for noticing the friendly apolyptic feel I was going for. You are so perceptive.
Kelly, I forgot to take a before shot of that. I'm the worst at remembering before shots. I'm always in such a rush to get to the after.

I love your art. I really am inspired by what you do. I checked out your art website and I love it!!! I'm an artist too. I'm 12 and I just started a site on ETSY for my handmade jewelry and a blog about my work. I really love seeing what other artists are up to. Very inspiring!! Cambria

I love the little dresser/nightstand. We are about to move into our house and thus get all our furniture back and I am thinking of re-doing my old bedroom set (about 15 yrs old). Wish you lived close to me! lol.

I am obsessed with this dresser. What kind of paint do you use on furniture like this?
