The Cover-Up
Thank you Friday Girls! They struck again last week. Kim and Shannon organized my cupboards. (Ahhhhh.... my kitchen needed a little left brain influence). Michelle put shelf paper on my shelves. And Colette brought my little curtain idea to life:
I didn't want to remove the plastic blinds in the kitchen because they would be tricky to replace (between the metal door and the plaster walls.) But I didn't want to look at them either. So we slip-covered them. Michelle and Colette were skeptical. But went along with me anyway (they're good sports). Well, it worked!! They are totally functional. You use the same string to pull them up and down. Hurray! No more ugly plastic blinds. And, with my 40% off coupon at Joanne, it only cost 8 bucks.
While the Friday Girls slaved away for me, I added straps to my beloved antique hi-chair. Now luke can eat smushed bananas in style.

Laura,
I love this look! I need to try this, too! You have THE BEST ideas...and that blue high chair is soooo adorable!

That is such a brilliant idea! If we weren't moving in 4 months, I'd do the same thing to all the blinds in this house that I hate.
And I know I've said it before, but I'm so jealous of your friday girls! I'm seriously going to have to get myself some of those ;)

I'd like to cast my vote for a tutorial. Terrific idea and I'm sure others would think so as the word is passed around. "How to would do"....not necessarily a long tutorial. Also, a picture of the blind down?? It is so nice to have a place to go to see creative ideas and you certainly have some great ones.

Dare I say brilliant again without sounding like a Guinness beer commercial?? What the heck, BRILLIANT! Wish I'd stumbled upon this before ripping the darn things off my windows! Love the highchair too!
