This Little Piggy Went to Market

Greendress

Doodling on Illustrator is twice as fun as doodling on receipts in airport terminals. After 4 days at quilt market it is so nice to be home in my P.J.'s with my kids and my own computer. But WOW, was that fun.

I saw my mom and her stellar assistant Beth. I always love to see what new dolls she's created. My favorite de jour? Her body language study in grey.

I shared a room with Heather and Anna Maria (Oh the giggles). And I was labled the "schoolmarm" because I got us to bed before 3am (call me old fashioned).

I met Kaffe Fassett and looked like a complete nerd by blubbering my lifetime adoration of his work. (He is the king of color.)

I watched seemingly innocent quilting grannies dance like they were in a college sorority. (I boogied down a bit myself with Gina from The Threaded Pear.)

I ran into Val and Dianne from my favorite quilting shop, who kept trying to get pictures of me and Heather checking each other's teeth.

Needless to say it was a grand adventure, and I'm not exactly sure how I got away with leaving the kids to play for a weekend.

What a fun week. My friend Rachel came up from Nashville for a visit. We figured we spent most of our free time grocery shopping and going to "Jazzercise." But isn't it funny how everyday domestic stuff can be so fun with a good friend. It was a great week. I sent Rachel off last night with her 2 babies and a dozen boxes of Trader Joe's ginger granola. (Nashville really needs a Trader Joe's.)

Thought I'd share my bedroom makeover. Maureen painted the room with me when she visited in June, and my Friday girls helped me put up curtains, rearrange furniture, etc, etc. Colette put the bed on a diagonal and ooh la la, the drama. The fairy is a favorite doll my mother made for me in highschool. The painting above my bed was one of the first paintings I did in my current style. It was a defining piece for me, so I don't think I'll ever part with it. I got some throw pillows at TJ Max that needed a bit more color. So I mixed some acrylics with a bit of water and went to town. I even scribbled some flowers on the small one with a paint pen.
