The Nosh

I've written before about my dear friend Shannon's shop, Fabric Nosherie. I have honestly never seen a more beautiful shop. Shannon and her husband have come up with the most inspiring ways to display fabric and projects. Just look at those bolts facing out! They've painted, patched, repaired, and ventured on an archaeological dig to uncover those rich hardwood floors, making this space spectacular. I mean the shop has a fireplace in the middle of the room! You can literally see the talent, vision and love that has gone into "The Nosh."

Fabric Nosherie has really filled a void in the St Louis area. And it has created quite a buzz-including multiple TV appearances. As fabric collectors, we know how important it is to have a local shop where you can handle the fabric and mix and match your prints in person--not to mention the community experience you can only find in a local shop.  

Despite the success of Fabric Nosherie shannon has made the difficult decision to sell the shop so that she can be home with her four ACTIVE young boys.  She is selling the shop, the name, the brand, everything to the highest bidder. Classes are scheduled. Inventory is on its way.  The new owner can simply bulid on the solid foundation that Marc and Shannon have prepared.  

In Shannon's words:

"Well, I thought I was super woman. While I’m pretty close, I have realized I can’t do everything. I have 5 beautiful babies, and one is up for adoption. She is one and a half years old, has a lot of personality, a lot of followers, and is supercool. No, it’s not one of my children. I only have boys; it is my other baby, Fabric Nosherie.

I will be holding a silent auction March 18-25.  More information can be found under the tab Shop for Sale/Up for Adoption [on Shannon's site].  All inquires are being addressed by Schleiffarth Law (their information is on my site).

This is a happy thing for me and for the shop. My family needs me and the shop needs someone who has more time. Fabric Nosherie was built with sweat and tears and I’m so proud to call it mine but I can’t help it grow to its potential while I’m working on growing my family. I hope you will take time to look at the information provided and come in and visit often. I will miss seeing all my wonderful customers!"

 

Edges

Here it is! My brand new line of basics and blenders--Edges. I had so much fun painting these and I've been dying for them to come out.  As a designer I've always loved basic prints.  And these are so unique with the brush stokes and subtle color changes that come from hand painted work.  They coordinate beautifully with my Painter's Canvas.

I've ben wanting to fix up my boys' room forever and this was my chance.  A project like this is so fun beacaue you can really make it personal--They just love that they each get a quilt in their favorite color. And what kid doesn't love a cozy little reading nook.  

The sign on the front panel of the bed was easy.  The letters, arrows and background are cut from my fabric.  I used my husband's favorite font, Helvetica, traced the letters onto fuseable interfacing, and ironed them onto the background.  I used spray glue to attach the sign to the panel and then sealed the whole thing with Mod Podge.  Luke think's it's hillarious.  I'll say, "Wait a second.  Where are you supposed to sleep?"  He'll crack up and point to the arrow.  Good fun.

 

Coral Quilt

I've been wanting to share this for a while.  Michelle Stolte made this beautiful quilt.  I love seeing all the reds and aquas together.  I've always had a weakness for that combination and with this line I just ran with it!  

I hope you had a lovely holiday with lots of friends and family around.  We certainly did.

P.S. Here's the info on the quilt pattern. It is from the book Quilts in the Sun by Kaffe Fassett. The name is Earthy Frames.

We've had some sunny days this week so I rushed out for a few photoshoots.  I really wanted to get some pictures worthy of this beatiful quilt designed by Tracey Jacobsen.  

Tracey was kind enough to rush this to me in time for Market and it was quite the show stopper.  Thank you Tracey!

 

Market Report

Well...we did it.  And I mean WE.  I must have had 20 family and friends pitch in for this.  I have to admit I had no idea what I was getting into, but I am thrilled with how it all came together.  THANK YOU Evie, Shannon, Pam, Cindy,Trenna, Heather, Katie, Sally, Steph, Angela, Beth, Tracey,Holly, Cynthia, Lily, Michael Miller folks and DAVE!
